Great place to stop for some drinks and food which can be enjoyed on the lovely porch with a nice view. This place is everything that dining along the Delaware should be. The bartenders and regular patrons are all very friendly.

Hello World. I am the bistro / restaurant / pub who has everything. I mean everything. Who cares that it's a little off the beaten path? Who doesn't love ''off the beaten path''? Who cares that I may need to drive an extra fifteen minutes to arrive? Not me. Arrival means: Fantastic view. Outside dining adjacent to the Delaware River. A menu that your utterly adorable, fantastic bartender is happy to give you. Thank you. May I say also, a bartender who knows how to make a Dark and Stormy...a really good one and who says "Thanks for Ordering it"! I love it. What this means is a trip to the dark side is necessary......

Stopped by for a late lunch at the restaurant after a hike at ringing rocks. Discovered this place by accidentally driving past the park entrance, stopping here for directions and potty break, and asking about the enticing $20 prime rib special advertised on the black board out front. And what an amazing dining experience! The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal. Unfortunately, when my party of four was finished with our hike in the late afternoon, the prime rib special was sold out. However, despite ordering alternatives, our meals were still incredibly delicious. We ordered the asparagus puffs for an appetizer - it came with two goat cheese and asparagus filled pastry puffs that were soo good. Then we ordered two entrees, each to be shared between two people. My boyfriend and I split the shrimp linguine which was covered in an amazing garlic sauce and also a french onion soup. My friend and her husband split the rib eye with potatoes and veggies. Good thing we decided to split because each of the entrees were huge! half ended up being perfect sized meals for each of us. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and we couldn't have been happier with our wonderful lunch here. We think we have created a new tradition - hiking at ringing rocks and eating lunch at the Indian Rock Inn restaurant!

I started out with the turkey and bow tie soup. Given the below freezing temperatures it was exactly what I yearned for. My partner had the French onion soup with the blue cheese on top. I've never had french onion before so I've got no valid point of comparison but it was absolutely delicious. A chicken house salad with a substantial amount of grilled flavorful chicken pieces and a nice mix of greens. The balsamic dressing was just rice, not too acidic nor salty. He had the steak sandwich with cheddar cheese. OMG!!! Divine and substantial as well with freshly made home style french fries. To top it all off, our meal was concluded by sharing a piece of the cookies and cream cheesecake. I for one am not a fan off anything containing cream cheese however I thoroughly enjoyed my portion of this sweet flavorful treat.

Spent Thanksgiving here with my wonderful wife. It was a particularly quiet afternoon on the banks of The Delaware River, and this rustic Inn served as a wonderful compliment. As we only had dinner, I cannot remark on the quality of the lodgings, but I suspect they would be more than satisfactory judging by the ensemble of patrons surrounding our dining room fireplace. We ordered the usual turkey and ham with all the trimmings, and the food - served on large dinner plates reminiscent of countless family gatherings, was absolutely worth the expectations with a holiday dinner reservation. The service and cocktails were spot on as well. Go check it out. I'm quite certain it will not disappoint.

So last night we made our annual drive down River Road to the Indian Rock. Over the past year some things have changed and some things have stayed the same and in the end to a point it really leaves me wondering why we like this place and why we keep coming back. Over the past year they've changed the menu by mostly dumbing it down to now being 1/2 quasi-fine dining and 1/2 bar food. (It annoyed me that the Chateau Filet that I ordered for years is now gone from the menu.) Service was slow as usual because it looked like only one server was covering the three tables in the room we were in plus multiple tables in another room. We started with the French Onion Soup and a Chicken Chili. The French Onion was good although the cheese on top was mostly blacked to the point of being a hard skin. The chili was simple, solid and clean tasting. The entrees of Chicken Parm and Pecan Encrusted Salmon had both some good attributes and some bad. The Salmon had a fishy odor and on the one side the pecans were black, hard and inedible but the portion size was huge. The piece of chicken for the chicken parm was also huge but to my surprise there was no red sauce and everything sat in a pool of butter/oil? from the accompaniying pasta. The drinks from the bar were both very strong and very good so no complaints there. The one owner was very nice and she checked in on everybody a few times while the other owner, who looks very Mr. Burns-ish, neither spoke nor looked at anyone as he just mostly creeped around outside smoking/spending way too much time shuffling around the patio chairs and tables while it was raining. But in the end we love the drive, the ambiance of the place and the view of the Delaware more than we're annoyed with the slow service/food (two hours from door to door) and quality of the offerings that is definitely a step back from where this place was a few years ago.

Stopped into the bar with a friend. We hit happy hour. The bartender was friendly and the drinks were good. We decided to sit and get some food as well. We split a burger. It didn't come out exactly how we had asked for it but I can understand we might have been a little confusing. The frieds were good but the burger definitely wasn't cooked as well as we wanted and didn't sit very well with me afterwards. All the food seemed in the $10-20 range.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner here today and the food and atmosphere were both excellent. For our first course we chose the Butternut Squash soup. Delicious. Second course was either turkey, ham or prime rib. I love prime rib but I chose the turkey dinner. It came with mashed potatoes, yams, broccoli and terrific stuffing. And there was plenty of food. For dessert I had Vanilla Cheesecake. Very creamy and good. A couple of things that would have made it an even better experience: there was no drink or wine list offered, we weren't asked if we wanted coffee, and we felt a little rushed, as if the waitress wanted to turn the table over. But overall it was great and we will definitely go back to dine.

I am someone who likes to REALLY get away. And you can't get much more "away", for the weekend, in my area of NJ, than this quaint and cute inn located in Upper Black Eddy, PA. My boyfriend and I decided to celebrate our anniversary with a weekend away and found ourselves drawn to the area because of its secluded, nature-bound presence. When we arrived one Friday evening, what we saw was a beautiful, old, historic inn standing strongly on River Road, facing directly towards the Delaware River. Across from the lovely Inn was a walkway bridge that crossed a stream to a grassy walk-path along the river. Of course, the entire place screamed "old but historic" - there is nothing more beautiful to me than places like this that reserves the pretension for uppity B&B's and obvious hotel chains like Hyatts and Hiltons. This is the real "escape" - a well-weathered historic home that has personality. And this place really does - there is a unique romantic vibe to the wooden porches, the constant view of the Delaware River from every angle, and that unique feeling of walking up to your own room with a key. The room itself was just right for two people who want to be together. There is no TV but we liked it that way (although the "Common Room" had one, but we had no real use of TV for the weekend). There was also a convenient back-porch stairwell to get from the parking lot to your room without walking through the front of the Inn every time. Each morning we were given a selection for breakfast in the downstairs dining room by the window, where we looked happily at the river and the plants and all the butterflies that would hover around the beautiful flowers. The breakfast included baked goods from the local bakery in Milford, cereals, fresh jams and butter, coffee, tea, and orange juice. There is a restaurant downstairs and we loved every part of our meal. Val, the chef, makes everything TO ORDER so everything was *fresh*. My boyfriend had the mozarella en corozza and loved it, and I had a Potato Leek and Arugala soup which was one of the best soups I've had while dining, period. It was served with delicious home made bread. For dinner he had the Moroccan Chicken, which he devoured; it came with roasted squash and a delicious couscous. I had a special to-made Vegetarian dish as I said ahead of time that I was vegetarian. I was given a delicious and complete plate of roasted potatoes, squash, eggplant and a tomato topped with asiago cheese. Very clever and nice. For dessert we shared a chocolate ganache cake with fresh whipped cream - very delicious and my only complaint is that it was tiny! The service was slow, but I sincerely think this has to do with their made to order ideal and the fact that it was busy - it was a Saturday night. To me, this is one of those casual fine dining meals that take up an evening, and is intended to take time, so I understand. The "Barking Dog" tavern is a bar downstairs which seemed fairly popular and full of regulars - some even stopped by on horseback. The tavern is named after Itchy & Ruby, the owners 11-year old Dachshunds. To me, their presence was something to cherish as I both love dogs and loved the personality they brought to the inn. Beverly, one of the owners, besides being so nice and helpful from day one, was very attentive to our experiences overall, whether it was making sure the toasted worked in the morning, to my vegetarian needs, to what good parks and stores awaited nearby. Overall, I was happy to find myself away from North Jersey, and staying in a place that is both pure, and attentive to be real. There is no subsitute for what I experienced personally, but I find that each B&B and Inn have their distinct personalities. The Indian Rock Inn, to me, was like taking a step back from decandent luxury and, instead, an immersion in to personal, peaceful luxury - the kind that is hard to find nowadays. My boyfriend and I are already talking of going back.

Have been here for dinner a few times. Always a tasteful experience. Took the mum in law here for a buffet on Mother's Day. Now *that* could have been better. But overall, when I don't feel like driving far, and I want a decent steak, this is the place to visit.

This place was fantastic! My girlfriend and I needed a get away and we sure had a nice, relaxing, romantic get away! The setting is great, right along the river the Indian Rock Inn gives you a wonderful place to stay with a gorgeous view at every corner. The building was built in 1812, but it doesn't feel that way really. While cozy and charming the place is not without it's modern luxuries. There's a TV in the common room and I was pleased to find an air conditioner and a ceiling fan in our bedroom. There is even free wireless internet for those of you who want to check up on some news or want to connect using your iPhone or iPad. This was great for mapping out our next place to explore. For breakfast we were treated to a complementary choice of pastries, fruit, coffee and juice. They were all very nice and delicious. My favorites were the cinnamon bun and the elephant ear, but all of it was very yummy. For dinner one night we decided to dine with them. I am sure glad we did, our meals were wonderful. Their chef Val makes everything fresh as you order. So don't expect your food out instantly, but the wait is sure worth it. From the soup and appetizers to the main meal I was happy with both the food and the very attentive service. We had everything we could need and they were sure to re-fill our water almost instantly without us even having to ask. They even made a custom dish of vegetables for my girlfriend who is vegetarian. Now that's service! This cozy inn was a perfect romantic get away for us and I hope to return again one day for another great stay!

This has been one our favorite restaurants. The overall style and location is fantastic. The older part with the big fireplace is great in the winter, and outdoor on the deck overlooking the river is great in the summer. The wait staff is informal but very friendly and helpful. The wine list is very short, and this is a detractor, but there is still always something you can find at a reasonable price. The menu is great. A great steak with peppercorn sauce. The apricot horseradish pork chop is unique and a perfect balance of tastes. Some of the seasonal specials are great such as the salmon cooked inside a corn husk. The desert menu is also great, but the various creme brûlée Flavors is what you try if you like that. It's also very consistent. We've been there many times and it's always good.

My husband and I stopped in for a beer on a cold Sunday while spending the weekend in Reigelsville. What a delight! Chris, the bartender, was fantastic and we had great conversations with him. The clientele of the bar was mostly local and all made us feel welcome along with sharing suggestions for other local inns and restaurants for future visits to the area. All the food is made fresh. The burger was delicious and my husband loved his chicken pot pie. We can't wait to come back!

First time visit. Didn't let us down. The dining area. Bar full and everyone looking happy. I had a wonderful mixed greens salad with apples and walnuts. Main course of duck was done perfectly. Moist and seasoned of perfection. Service was professional and knowledge of menu was noticeable right from the start. Wood stove burning in the dining room was a delight. Overall the visit for dinner was memorable and looking toward to stopping there this spring while out in the convertible.

Regular menu is not bad don't go for brunch horrible. Great location for scenic views of the Delaware River and the cliffs. The building is interesting and dates from early 1800's and functions an an Inn popular with tourist from New York City, This place is supposedly haunted also if you are looking for a creepy experience???

We just returned from a short, one-night stay at Indian Rock Inn, and we're already looking forward to going back. We didn't eat at the restaurant on this trip, so this review is only for lodging. The dining room was lovely though, warm and inviting, and the proprietors eager to cater to our vegetarian diets - so next time we hope to enjoy a meal there as well. Being perched dramatically between a rock wall and the Delaware River, this place definitely stands out; you really can't help but enjoy the scenery. Room #7, on the third floor, directly faces the river and affords especially wonderful views from each of its windows. The room itself was large and comfortable, and very clean. I particularly enjoyed the unpainted wood ceiling with exposed beams, and the simple, tasteful decor. It wasn't dripping with velvet and lace and dusty old knick knacks as so many B&B's are. It instead tipped its hat to yesteryear with a pretty brass bed, marble-topped bedside tables, an antique dresser, some crocheted doilies, and a few other period-appropriate details - just enough to make it feel homey. An overhead light fixture with ceiling fan was a nice touch, though we chose to utilize the powerful wall-mounted A/C unit to counteract the humidity. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable, and the linens were crisp. There's no television in the room, which I was actually happy about - but there is a TV available to guests in the communal room on the floor below (along with movies, books, and a small refrigerator). The private bathroom was tiny, but again very clean. It was big enough to fit only a toilet and shower stall. There's a pedestal sink in the main room, just outside the bathroom door, with a mirror and light fixture mounted just above it. I know it sounds odd, but it worked - I guess because the main room is so large. It also hearkened back to the days when folks washed up in their sleeping quarters using a basin and pitcher of water, adding to the room's rustic charm. :o) The shower stall was roomy enough, and the towels plush. Complimentary toiletries were provided, too, which is always a welcomed gesture. The inn did not offer breakfast of any kind, which I thought was kind of odd for an inn with its own restaurant - especially when the website states that a continental breakfast is included (perhaps this is only on weekends?). The owners instead gave us $5.00 vouchers to be used at the nearby Homestead General Store, which houses the Homestead Coffee Roasters (coffee was good!), a deli, and some fresh baked muffins and other treats. No complaints here, but worth mention nonetheless. I loved the location of this inn, and not just because it's at the water's edge - it's also just across the street from footbridge access to the Delaware Canal Towpath, and super close to Ringing Rocks Park (which I highly recommend; bring a hammer!). Frenchtown is about a 10 or 15 minute drive away, and Lambertville and New Hope about a half hour or so. The inn is quiet and off the beaten path, yet the perfect home base for exploring the Hunterdon and Bucks County area. Its midweek rates are extremely reasonable, as well. I would enthusiastically recommend this place, and will definitely return here myself... hopefully for more than one night!

I was dissapointed at the overall stay here, the rooms were on the older side and needed a bit of a facelift, and needed some work. The owners were super friendly and overall attentive which helped them retain a star. Also the location is really a great view and beautiful river road. Too bad the Inn needs some work to really make it amazing. The views though were great, and the place was very much homely.
